Team/Position Summary: The Test Engineering department provides support services to Nintendo of America (NOA) teams involved with the development process of gaming software and hardware throughout North and South America. These services include pre-release product security, development hardware and software distribution, IT infrastructure support, software engineering for tool and application creation, activity support, and developer guideline workflows. This position will be responsible for planning and executing the receipt, tracking, and transfer of development hardware and software systems instrumental to the support of game development activities. Duties are performed under strict adherence to corporate prototype security policies and corporate information management policies. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES - Responsible for planning and executing the receipt, tracking, and transfer of development hardware and software systems instrumental to the support of game development activities
- Receives prototype software and hardware, documents, and ensures security of distributed game software received from Nintendo Company, Ltd. (NCL) and Nintendo licensees and developers
- Verifies software security and that the process is followed by all departments
- Maintains and oversees software database and facilitates FTP/VPN access and protocol
- Resolves discrepancies on software submissions
- Maintains software submission logs and databases
- Reviews software programs prior to routing to final testing and manufacturing
- Processes prototype software for use by North and South American markets
- Maintains internal server and archive processes
- Actively engages in ongoing process improvement as well as personal development
- Processes and provides prototype software and hardware support to external departments
- Processes and prepares game file for test team usage
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS - Three to five years of related experience
- Experience leading projects or a team
- Knowledge of video games and hardware platforms highly preferred
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime, weekends and holidays as needed to meet business needs
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills, problem solving and cross-group collaboration
- Excellent PC and Microsoft Office suite skills
- Ability to learn new software/technologies quickly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly confidential environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency with Bash scripting and basic programming preferred
- Proficiency in IT infrastructure support or knowledge
- Valid passport required for international travel
- Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent
